My Role: I began my time working on The Outer Worlds 2 as a production intern in the Obsidian University program. While interning at Obsidian, I was initially meant only to act as support for the art producer on The Outer Worlds 2, but quickly showed my experience with Jira, Confluence, and Agile to catch the tasks and ideas falling through the cracks. I then expressed that I wanted to work more directly with individual developers, and so I began to produce the newly formed Weapons team. With this new responsibility, I dove into understanding the entire weapons pipeline from concept to rigging to design balance and QA.

After directing my own project, Social Moth, and graduating, I was invited back to Obsidian, reclaimed my role of producing the Weapons team (now as an Associate Producer), and got right to work mapping out production needs through Beta with Jira stubs and gantt charts based on updated estimate meetings with developers. In short order, I expanded to produce the Gadgets team, which brought more interactable items and character armor under my purview. I was also given the task of rebuilding a UI/UX team that had lost its entire headcount. I worked with our outsourcing department and Microsoft’s outsourcing network team to create a new relationship with the developers at Aspiring Unicorn Games and built out a new roadmap through beta meshing our previous goals and new bandwidth. I even had the pleasure of working alongside our narrative team to manage voice over sessions with the game’s cast!
