Ben Heid
I am a games producer, designer, and mentor as well as a former Counter-Strike semi-professional player! I began my games career as a Computer Science & Game Development major at Northeastern University in Boston before transferring to the Computer Science (Games) program and then the Interactive Media and Game Design program at USC. Once there, I started a new journey, as I realized my passion for production!
Since then, I have been able to work with multiple teams of incredibly talented designers and artists across triple AAA and indie studios to create high quality digital games, board games, and escape rooms! I have learned to not only oversee and facilitate the design process, but to apply my knowledge of design to help my teammates with any new challenges.
I work with people. I work to know everyone on my team. Be it what they see the project as, who they work best with, or things they are struggling with in their outside life, I work to ensure that everybody feels heard. But just as important is my ability to halt an aspect of a project or communicate issues to team members in a way that is both respectful and decisive.
My approach to production is centered around clarity and camaraderie. I ensure that every person on a team knows what they need to do while being able to voice what they want to do. I strive to find the balance between production limits and creative freedom in order to create the best product for players and the best production environment for developers.
