A-FLOCK-ALYPSE
A-FLOCK-ALYPSE is a game about saving your flock of birds from impending climate change featuring a dynamic board based on the classic children’s game Up The River. This project truly took flight despite a development period of only one week.
My Role: I acted as the producer, gameplay designer, and playtest coordinator for A-FLOCK-ALYPSE. I created a road map for completing this project using an agile-lite production methodology in order to make effective changes based upon playtest responses. I was also in charge of board design and worked with Geneva Hyunh on mechanics balancing.
A-FLOCK-ALYPSE is a board game in which 2-4 players each control a penguin, toucan, and macaw. Their objective is to get these birds from the bottom of the board to the top, while staying ahead of the rising sea levels that mean certain doom. The threat of rising sea levels and different move patterns and point values for each bird lead to emergent, strategic gameplay that keeps everyone on the edge of their seat!
